Hey, thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about me and where I come from.
When I look back I seem to have crammed a lot into my professional life so far…I graduated in 2001 with a First Class Honours degree in Graphic Illustration and in the 16 years since have completed an internship in the design studio at Hallmark, designed for a Graphic Design agency in the Cypriot town of Ayia Napa creating nightclub graphics (back in the day!), worked as a Graphic Designer for an Advertising agency here at home in Yorkshire, and taught at College level as a Course Leader of Graphic Illustration.
Finally in 2012 I put down firm roots setting up Julia Eastwood – Illustrating Happiness and haven’t looked back since. Life became a little crazy not long after when our beautiful daughter Lottie arrived, I won’t lie, it has been some juggling act, but business has gone from strength to strength and 2016 saw me make the exciting move from working at home to having my own studio in Croft Myl, West Yorkshire.
My days revolve around getting messy with paint, playing with pretty ribbons and chasing around my now 4 year old daughter (and sometimes all at once)! I’m a little bit (hugely) obsessed with ‘pintrest’ and thrilled as I am with my new studio – my design brain will always work best snuggled on the sofa with a huge mug of coffee…
