You could say I’m a little bit obsessed with weddings… I still own a bridal catalogue given to me aged seven and my mum still complains about losing me every time we visit the supermarket, only to find me engrossed in the trusty wedding magazine aisle!
And so, when I got engaged and started planning my very own big day I’m sure you can imagine I was over the moon. I’m a girly girl, but not a ribbons and bows kind of girl and when looking for my wedding stationery everywhere I turned featured encrusted crystals, matching bows or retro typography. I wanted something different. Something that would really represent us. And so I set to work.
The result was an intimate and personal ink and watercolour illustration which featured all of our loves; the Cuba flag to signify where we were engaged, a cat for our beloved pet Archie, and a goldfish for his ‘sister’ Bridget, a football for Gary’s passion and the Statue of Liberty to represent our favourite place on earth. All entwined with rustic branches and leaves reminding us of Yorkshire; our home. This is where the Love Julia Eastwood story began.
I’ve worked with brides the length and breadth of the country and also Italy, France, Hong Kong, Australia and the USA. The illustration I produced for my own wedding is still at the core of everything I do, which is to lovingly illustrate personal, intimate and unique wedding stationery that portrays who you as a couple truly are.
Much love, Julia x
